TESHTAR ELAVIA is the corporate vice president and chief technology officer at Integra LifeSciences. Teshtar leads our research and development (R&D), innovation pipeline, and life cycle management.
Teshtar is a seasoned executive with a proven track record of successfully advancing product development programs across their lifecycles, with 20 years of experience spanning imaging and navigation, minimally invasive surgery, regenerative medicine, diabetes care, and autoimmune diseases. He has developed and implemented R&D roadmaps and led transformation efforts to drive innovation and new product development with a focus on connected care solutions.
Prior to Integra, Teshtar was the vice president, R&D for Becton Dickinson’s Medical Delivery Solutions business. He also has held roles of increasing responsibility at Eli Lilly, Medtronic, and Johnson & Johnson.
Teshtar completed his master’s degree in chemical engineering at Widener University and his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering at Mumbai University. He is a certified master Black Belt and Six Sigma Lean leader. He is also a certified quality auditor. Teshtar is an executive in residence at Columbia Technology Ventures, working with entrepreneurs and inventors at Columbia University to facilitate the transfer of research innovations from the lab to the market, as well as supporting start-up efforts.
